Event Description
A Westobou Festival Chamber Music Series Event Presented by the Department of Music
Augusta State University's duo-piano team of Dr. Martin David Jones and Dr. Clara Park will present a two-piano recital featuring music of Leonard Bernstein and Claude Bolling. They will be joined by percussionist Matthew Jones and bassist Dr. Barry Garman. Bernstein's classic “Symphonic Dances from West Side Story” will be performed in an exiting arrangement for two pianos and percussion. Claude Bolling's Sonata for Two-Pianists (with bass and drums) is a dazzling fusion of the jazz and classical styles and should be a wild ride. The program will also feature a new work for two pianos by Martin David Jones.
